HELENA 60 SALT LAKE 12

HELENA - The Helena Titan defense forced an RMFL record 10 turnovers (7 recovered fumbles and 3 interceptions) en route to a 60-12 route over the road-weary Salt Lake Stallions. The Helena Titans utlilized the turnovers to score 4 touchdowns within a 6 minute span starting late in the first quarter into early in the second quarter to pull away from a Stallion team suffering from losing access to their home field for most of the season, now playing in their 4th straight road game... with 2 more to go.

Donny Kaneshiro scored 4 rushing touchdowns and rushed for 91 yards to lead the Titan offense. Quarterback Shane Jurasek made efficient use of the passing attack to throw for 3 touchdown passes on only 15 attempts and 80 yards passing; two of the touchdowns went to all-star tight end, Mike McNellis (4 receptions, 56 yards) who had a big day as well. The Titan defense benefitted from the full-strength return of all-RMFL linebacker, Spencer Steiner (7 tackles) and another big game from linebacker, Seth Price (5 tackles, 1/2 sack). The fumble recovery brigade was lead by Ezra Schillig and Travis Lamb recovering 2 a piece. Also falling on lose Stallion pigskins were Michael Moe, Frank Cannon, and Chi Flores.

For the Stallions, fullback, Micheal Sagapolutelle continued to show strength for the struggling offense, rushing for 45 yards on 8 carries and Andrew Butler caught 2 passes for 51 yards to lead the receiving corp. Iron-man Sagapolutelle also lead the defense with 7 tackles and James Whitehead had 6 tackles, including 2 Jurasek sacks to lead the defense. Sagapolutele and Butler also accounted for the only two scores. For the first time in RMFL history, two kick-offs were returned for a touchdown by the same team in the same game. Butler returned one 85-yards for a score in the first quarter and Sagapolutele returned a kick-off 78-yards to paydirt in the second.
