HELENA - Reggie Jackson returned to the Silverback lineup after one week off to rush for 170 yards and 3 touchdowns and reigning RMFL Offensive MVP, Brock Gunter caught 4 passes for 160 yards and a couple of touchdowns as the Pocatello Silverbacks made a statement in Montana, defeating the big and talented, Helena Titans 46-28. Silverback quarterback, Jeff Belnap had a big day as well passing for 310 yards, 3 touchdowns and no interceptions. The Silverbacks defense was lead by the league's 2001 rushing champion, Tyler Wheatley who recorded 5 tackles, 4-1/2 of which were sacks, including a safety on Titan quarterback, Shane Jurasek. The Titans offense did get a breakout performance from former CFL player, Hollis Huggins, who rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns, including runs of 65 and 46 yards against a tough Pocatello defense. The Titans defense got another standout performance from former RMFL tackle champion, Spencer Steiner. Steiner recorded 10 unassisted tackles and recovered a Silverback fumble. The game saw the Silverbacks jump out to a quick 14-0, then 21-7 first quarter leads, all on Reggie Jackson touchdown runs. The defending RMFL champions pushed the lead to 46-7 after a Brandon Palmer touchdown pass at the 13:36 mark of the fourth quarter before the Titans furious comeback attempt would fall short. The Silverbacks (5-1) now prepare for a big game against the Madison Lionz (5-1), the winner of which might likely gain the number 1 seed in the RMFL playoffs. The Titans (2-3) now must prepare for their second long road trip of the season to play the Treasure Valley Panters (1-4) in Boise.
