SNAKE RIVER 54 HELENA 19
HELENA - The Snake River Rebels silenced all doubters that believed the Rebels could not motivate themselves for a longer road game, as they ran to a 54-19 victory over the playoff hopeful Helena Titans in Helena. Lead by the return of Kade Shawver (16 rushes, 153 yards), the Rebels rushed for more than 250 yards as a team, once again. The Rebel offense also got a big game out of the duo of Logan Cobb (12-17-1-255-2) and Dustin Aldous (6 receptions, 152 yards and two touchdowns) as the Rebel defense, lead by Charlie Bair (12 tackles, 1 sack) and Jeb Harrison (8 tackles, 5 sacks) shut down the Titans all-star running back, Hollis Huggins, holding him to negative yards rushing for the game. Shane Jurasek, however, had a career game at quarterback for the Titans, rushing for over 100 yards and a touchdown and passing for over 300 yards and two scores. The key play of the game, however, came midway through the second quarter when, after a strong Helena drive, Bryan Hilborn lined up to kick a short 34-yard field goal. Had the field goal been made, the Titans would have been right in the game at 20-10, however when Snake River's Charlie Bair blocked the kick and Jake Phippen picked it up and ran 70 yards for a touchdown, the 20-10 game quickly became 26-7 and the rout was on. The Rebels (6-2) now have a bye week, while the Titans (3-4) finish the regular season at Madison (5-2).
