April 13, 2002 Snake River Rebels vs. Mini-Cassia Bulldawgs
SNAKE RIVER 44 MINI-CASSIA 8
RUPERT - When Bulldawgs quarterback Mike Manning found Junior Hale in the end zone midway through the third quarter, it looked like the Bulldawgs may make a game of it yet. The score would have been 22-14 with a conversion attempt pending, but when the play was called back by a critical holding penalty, the Bulldawgs hopes drained and the Rebels took off, eventually finishing the game with a resounding 44-8 triumph. The Rebels had many stars. Austin Shawver had another big game, rushing for 3 touchdowns on 189 yards rushing. Travis Boden scored 2 touchdowns on 163 yards rushing, Jesse Cobb had 138 all-purpose yards, Logan Cobb passed for over 200 yards without an interception, Charlie Bair recorded 15 tackles and Jeb Harrison performed a rare hat trick, 1 interception, 1 sack and 1 rushing touchdown as the Rebels continued their dominance over Idaho teams. Mini-Cassia did get another big game from quarterback, Mike Manning (198 passing yards, 33 rushing yards) and reigning RMFL MVP, Lonnie Edwards (41 rushing yards, 33 receiving yards). But it was Junior Hale who exploded most going over 100 receiving yards for the second time in 3 weeks. The Bulldawgs (0-3) travel to Fort Hall (0-3) for their next tilt, while the Rebels (2-0) open their home schedule by hosting the new team from Rexburg, the Madison Lionz (2-0).
