Although the Pocatello Silverbacks enjoyed the return to play of 2001 RMFL rushing champion, Tyler Wheatley, it was fullback, Russell Contrares who rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown to lead the way for the Pocatello offense en route to a 31-0 victory over the visiting Treasure Valley Panthers. The Silverback defense, lead by Cameron Hicks (4-1/2 tackles, 2 interceptions) and Troy Sutton (3 tackles, interception return for touchdown), forced 5 turnovers and held the Panthers to a mere 111 yards of total offense. The Panther defense, lead by Cliff Robinson (5 tackles) and Aaron Crawford (4 tackles, 1 sack) also came to play, however, keeping the game close (17-0) going into the 4th quarter. Silverback quarterback, Jeff Belnap had another strong performance, passing for 141 yards passing, 91-yards and a touchdown to all-star reciever, Brock Gunter. The Silverbacks (2-0) have a week off to prepare for their next test against number 1 ranked, Idaho Falls (1-0) on April 20th. The Panthers (0-1) stay home and host the Madison Lionz (2-0).
