IDAHO FALLS - Rayce Bird rushed for 78 yards and a couple of touchdowns and Cody Jackson tossed a couple of touchdown passes as the Idaho Falls Mustangs dropped the Treasure Valley Panters 25-0. In heavy winds, the game became a game of field position and putting drives together as the Mustangs outperformed the Panthers in total yards (265-202). The Panthers, who had to play most of the game without star Manzo Hodge, who left late in the first quarter with a freak injury, had offensive success, but could not put the ball in the end zone. The Mustangs, on the other hand, had to play the game without their key defensive star, Ron Childs. Childs was recovering from a minor injury sustained near the end of the Madison game. Other Mustang defensive players stepped up, however, as Scott Worthington chipped in 7-1/2 tackles, Jason Carlyle 5-1/2 and a sack, and Mike Jensen recorded 4-1/2 tackles The Mustang (4-1) now must gear up for their game of the year, at home against the Snake River Rebels (3-1) while the Panthers (1-3) go home to host the suddenly resurgent Mini-Cassia Bulldawgs (2-3).
