The Idaho Falls Mustangs completed a strong regular season with a big season ending road victory over a spirited Boise Roughrider team, 34-26. The Mustangs were lead, once again, by quarterback Cody Jackson who passed for more than 200 yards and rushed for another 53 yards and two touchdowns. Missing both starting tailbacks, Rayce Bird and Josh Clifford, Ron Holyhoak stepped up and rushed for 72 yards, including a 42-yard touchdown and Scott Johnson caught 6 Jackson passes for 121 yards. The Mustang defense was lead, once again, by Ron Childs who recorded 9-1/2 tackles, Scott Worthington (5 tackles), Holyhoak (4 tackles) and Mike Jensen (3 tackles, 1.5 sacks) came up big as well. By virtue of the win, the Mustangs (6-2) get the #2 playoff seed and a first round bye before waiting to see which second round opponent they will host on June 15th. The Roughriders (2-6) slipped into the playoffs by virtue of the Snake River suspension and the Treasure Valley Panthers inability to accept the #6 seed. The Roughriders will open up at Madison (6-2).
