FORT HALL - The Idaho Falls Mustangs continued their domination over the Fort Hall Cobras, this time by the greatest margin ever, 69-0. The Fort Hall Cobras (formerly the Dragons franchise) have never beat the Mustangs since the two franchises began in 1997, the Mustangs winning 10 straight prior to Saturday. The Mustangs were lead on offense by Josh Clifford (5 touchdowns) and a sterling offensive line that created holes for Mustang rushers to rush for 244 yards rushing. Running backs, Rayce Bird and Russell Cummins each tacked on a pair of touchdowns a piece with quartback Cody Jackson picking up one himself as the Mustangs rolled in their second RMFL outing. Once again, the aenemic Cobra offense ran up against one of the areas best defensive units as the Mustangs limited the Cobras to 12 total net yards, forced 10 turnovers (3 fumbles, 7 interceptions) and sacked Cobra quarterbacks 12 times. Former RMFL MVP, Mike Jensen, lead the defense with 5 tackles and 4 sacks, while former NFL linebacker, Ron Childs pitched in with 4-1/2 tackles (1-1/2 sacks) and and interception. For good measure, the Mustangs even ran Childs in the backfield as he broke off a 16-yard run. The Cobras (0-3) get to regroup next week and host the Mini-Cassia Bulldawgs (0-3) while the Mustangs (2-0) get ready for their pivotal match-up with the defending RMFL champion, Pocatello Silverbacks (2-0).
