MADISON 49 HELENA 3

HELENA - The Madison Lionz continued to roar through RMFL competition Saturday by systematically dispatching the Helena Titans football squad, scoring touchdowns in all 4 quarters en route to a 49-3 romp in Helena, Montana. The Lionz scored early with a Troy Dougherty (20-28-1-332-3, 30 rushing yards) to Dave Allen (8 catches, 102 yards, 2 touchdowns) touchdown pass and never looked back as the top-rated Lionz cruised on the road. Lionz star wide receiver, Buck Mouser, continued to make a statement as the top receiver in the league, catching 6 passes for 149 yards including a 64-yard touchdown catch and run in the third quarter that dashed all Titan hopes for a second half comeback.

While the Lionz offense "spread the ball around", with 9 different rushers carrying the ball and 6 different pass receivers catching the ball, the defense also showed up in force. Rodney Peach (7.5 tackles, 1.5 sacks), Brodie Landon (7 tackles) and Brodie Atwood (6 tackles, 1 sack) lead the way. The final defensive statement came early in the 4th quarter, when as the Titans were driving into Lionz territory, Madison cornerback, Tagg Williams stepped in front of a Shane Jurasek pass and raced 75-yards for a defensive touchdown to ice the game away with a score of 42-3 at the time. The Titans were not without their own solid peformances, getting an all-around performance from all-around all-star, Hollis Huggins. Huggins rushed for 24 yards on offense on only 3 carries as well as recording 5-1/2 tackles on defense. Michael Moe lead the Titan defense with 8-1/2 tackles. Titan quarterback, Shane Jurasek continues to be a greater threat running than passing, rushing for a team high 59 yards on 10 carries while only passing for 82 yards.
