MADISON 98 FORT HALL 0

REXBURG - 10 different Madison Lionz scored touchdowns, 11 different Lionz rushed the football and 7 different pass recievers caught a total of only 10 total pass completions as the Madison Lionz set an RMFL record in points scored in a game dropping a gritty Fort Hall team 98-0. The game saw a combination of different Lionz rushers rush for a total of 322 yards with no Lionz rusher gaining more than 100 yards for the game. Starting quarterback Dave Allen played one effective quarter leading the Lionz to a 36-0 lead before giving way to former RMFL MVP, Lionz back-up quarterback, Jared Neumeier, for the rest of the game. The Cobra players played with heart as the game seemed to run on and on. The Lionz offensive coach, Rick Hilder refused to call a pass play in the second half as the back up players got the "Lionz" share of the work. The game ended with some Cobra criticism of the Lionz for "running up the score", but according to coach Hilder, "we did everything we could but start kneeling on it in the third quarter. We just ran the ball and it seemed no matter who we gave it to, they did some positive things with it." The Lionz (4-1) now get ready for a second trip to Boise to play the Boise Roughriders (1-3) as the Cobras get a couple of consecutive bye weeks to regroup before closing out the season with Boise and Treasure Valley (1-3).
