WASATCH 42 IDAHO FALLS 28

TheWasatch Wildcats continued their unbeaten streak in the RMFL with a hard-fought, exciting 42-28 victory over the RMFL's 1998 champs, the Idaho Falls Mustangs.   In a struggle between the two best defensive teams (statisticly), it was the highest point total scored in a game in the RMFL this year.  Beginning with Anthony Parker's 45-yard touchdown run on the game's second play and ending with Daniel Hadley's return of the final Mustang pass attempt to pull out a tie game, the game had it all.   Mustang tailback, Mike Jensen rushed for over 200 yards and Mustang defensive back, Tobee Christiansen picked off David Ankeny 3 times.  Anthony Parker rushed for over 100 yards and two touchdowns and Jasen Ah You blocked a Mustang punt and returned it for a touchdown.  It all came down to a two point conversion try by the Wildcats.... With 3:11 remaining in the game, the Wildcats picked up the second Anthony Parker touchdown making the score Mustangs 28, Wildcats 27 with the conversion pending.  After a Wildcat timeout, the home team elected to go for the 2-point conversion and quarterback Ankeny kept it himself on an option right and dove just across the line for the effectual win.  The Mustangs fumbled the ensuing kickoff away to seal their fate.  The Mustangs (6-3) finish the season against archrival, Rocky Mountain (3-6) and a victory ensures them the #2 seed in the playoffs.  A Rocky Mountain victory assures them a playoff birth as the #6 seed.  The Wildcats (9-0) now finish the season at Mini-Cassia (2-7) who were eliminated from the playoffs last week with a loss to the Cobras.
