Two days after Mike Manning was named "the best quarterback in the RMFL" by the annual RMFL pre-season review, he proved it. On a cold, blustery morning at West Minico Junior High School, Mike Manning threw 4 touchdown passes and ran for a 5th in leading the Mini-Cassia Bulldawgs in a rout of the visiting Fort Hall Cobras 44-0. Manning teamed up with newly acquired wide receiver, Trent Vest (7 receptions, 138 yards) for two touchdowns and J.R. Hale and Casey Neilson for the other two scores. The Bulldawg defense shut out an anemic Cobra offense with a great defensive line push and great downfield coverage forcing 5 interceptions of Cobra quarterbacks. The Cobra defense looked strong for a while, shutting down the high-powered Bulldawg offense in the first quarter before letting the game slip away a bit in the second quarter. The Cobra defense was lead by Tyler Beebe (8-1/2 tackles, fumble recovery) and Mike Merrill (6 tackles, 1 sack). The Cobras struggled all day attempting to get the speedy Roy Ramirez (15 carries, 14 yards) into the open field. Wide Receiver, Lance Kingford (4 receptions, 58 yards) was a real bright spot for the Cobra offense.
