Story Contribution by Coach Wheat of the Knights

(Glacier, MT)  The Glacier Knights took on the Logan Stampede this last Saturday in front of a packed crowd. This would be the first time these two teams have met and the first time Glacier has hosted a team from Utah and it would be a tough battle against a playoff bound team (Logan) and a team surging (Knights).

The first quarter started with the defenses taking over holding both teams to a 0 – 0 tie after one.  Logan got on the board first with a Carlisle 10 yard TD run (Conversion failed) midway through the second quarter giving the Stampede an early 6-0 lead.  Moments later the Knights put it into the end zone with an Evans to Herman pass from 3 yards out (kick no good) tying the score 6-6.  The score was set up with a 20 yard pass to Evans which put the Knights in the red zone. The offensive line gave the Knights quarter back time to throw all day.

In the third Mike Kuehne added two more TD's to put the Knights in the lead one was a 32 yard reception from Holgwin (Kick good) and the other a 13 yard run (kick good) to up the Knights lead 20-6.

Logan came back in the 4th quarter on a Carlisle 12 yard run and converted the 2 point conversion putting them down by 6. The Knights went three and out on their next possession which gave Logan one more try with two minutes left. The Knights D would hold up on fourth down from the 12 yard line with the time clock ticking down. The Knights Thomas Evans burst through the line and sacked Logan’s quarter back to end the game securing a 20-6 win.

The Knights keep marching towards the playoffs, and a win against the Lionz in two weeks put the Knights in a good spot. “This team is starting to come together and work as one unit and it shows.”, stated coach Wheat.

With the amount of talent the Knights have this year from Missoula, Canada and Kalispell it is only a matter of time before they came together as a team.

The Knights next take on Playoff bound Madison Lionz while the Stampede travel to the Warriorz in what is a must win for the Logan to keep their playoff hopes alive.
