MANAGING BOARD MEETS: 12:00 NOON - inside high school

PLAYERS COACHES REPORT: 3:00 P.M. (there will be a 15 minute mid-field meeting; players need to be there to guarantee their spot)

PRE-GAME COMPETITIONS: 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.

GAME KICK-OFF: 6:30 p.m.

ARIMO, IDAHO – It’s All-Star time!!! It is time for ALL of the players of the Rocky Mountain Football League to come together for one big party!  Even if you are not an all-star, or even if you do not feel up to competing in any of the 3 pre-game competitions, players from around the league should feel free to attend and meet and greet other players from around the RMFL.

And for the first time in years, the All-Star game will be FREE for all who attend!

If, however, you are a player and/or you are ready to compete as either the league’s “Strongest Man”, “Fastest Man” or “Strongest Arm (football throw for distance)”, then pay particular attention to the details herein.

NOTE: Reigning Champions:  Harold Ragin, Strongest Arm; Ryan Lingenfelder, Strongest Man; Anthony Stewart, Fastest Man….

Remember, this is the big social event of the year in the Rocky Mountain Football League and will pit the league’s top players… playing on the same side; but will also have the big three pre-game competitions, open to ALL RMFL players as well as the half time awards presentations that will award the top performers statisticly through the season as well as the Most valuable players of all of the several divisions and conferences.

“These pre-game competitions have just gotten bigger and bigger,” RMFL Commissioner, Jared Neumeier said, “I think the only thing keeping more players from participating is not fear of losing… but fear of being embarrassed.  There’s usually a pretty decent crowd by then.”

The Fastest Man competition will be two 50-yard dash heats with a final pitting the 6 fastest for the overall best (depending upon how many competitors). The strongest man competition will be which player can do the most repetitions of a 225-lb bench press and the strongest arm will be a longest throw competition in which each contestant will get two throws, with yards deducted for yards away from the line, so accuracy will be part of the competition. The strongest man competition, which usually draws the biggest spectator crowd, will receive tighter judging rigor as all contestants will be required to lower the bar to a specific drop point  in order for the repetition to count. A trophy will be awarded for each winner and the results of each competition will be posted to the web site on the following Sunday as well, for those not able to attend the game. ALL league players are welcome to come to the game, join the field and enter this competition, not just the All-Stars. The requirement, however, will be to wear the jersey of the team you play on and report on the field your name and team. "I think it will be a fun event and I know everyone will be curious as to who wins these events," Neumeier added.

Also, as a final reminder to ALL All-Star players. Bring your TEAM JERSEY’S (both colors if you have them) and report to the field  by 3:00 p.m. BRING YOUR BEST WHITE FOOTBALL PANTS (if you have white pants, otherwise the lightest color pants you have).

WHAT EVERY ALL-STAR NEEDS TO KNOW:

  • Game is at Marsh Valley High School (Arimo, Idaho) on Saturday, July 12th
  • Take exit 40 (Arimo exit) east off  I-15.  Turn left on first left (north) and school comes up quickly on your left (west).
  • BE THERE BY 2:30 P.M. SO YOU CAN BE DRESSED AND READY TO WORKOUT AT 3:00 P.M. ON THE FIELD.  TAPE WILL BE IN LOCKER ROOMS AND YOU WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO PAIR UP TO TAPE AS THERE MAY BE NO TRAINERS TO DO IT. COMMITMENT TO PLAY IN THIS GAME, INCLUDED COMMITMENT TO BE THERE AND READY BY 3:00 P.M. IF YOU CANNOT BE THERE BY THE TIME PLAYERS ARE REQUIRED TO REPORT, LET THE LEAGUE OR YOUR GM KNOW SO THAT WE CAN FIND A REPLACEMENT FOR YOU. IF YOU ARE NOT THERE FOR THE 3:00 P.M. MEETING WHICH WILL INCLUDE A ROLL CALL, AN ALTERNATE MAY TAKE YOUR PLACE.  MANY ALTERNATES HAVE BEEN TOLD TO BE THERE… EQUIPMENT IN HAND. LEAVE PLENTY OF TIME TO GET THERE AND BE READY.
  • Coaches will have guidelines for playing time (EQUAL time for all players) that will include starting the first players that are ready for practice. Just allow plenty of time, show respect for your fellow players and be there in plenty of time to be ready to become familiar with your all-star teammates and coaches.
  • BRING WHITE PANTS. Even worn, white practice pants (cleaned) will look better with the rest of your all-star teammates, especially the team with White jerseys, especially if everyone has them. Different colored helmets are obviously expected and allows you to display your team representation. If you don't have white pants, try to borrow them, or buy a pair (usually, only about $10).
  • Coaching staffs will need to provide team equipment and  footballs, etc. from their team's equipment store, however, you may wish to bring your own tape and/or balls.  Water is being supplied by the RMFL. Thanks!!!!.
  • Game will begin at 6:30 p.m. THE GAME WILL BE FREE FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND PLAYERS AROUND THE LEAGUE… ENJOY!!
  • Competitions will be held between 5:10 p.m. and 5:50 p.m. on the field.
  • Pre-game ceremonies and complete team player introductions will begin at 6:00 p.m.
  • Halftime is extended by 20 minutes for awards presentations. All individual awards, including the MVP awards will be presented at this time for the 2007 season. If you may win an award, and you will not be there, try to designate a person to accept on your behalf, otherwise, one will be appointed for you.

FINAL ALL-STAR ROSTERS:

NOTE: THE FOLLOWING PLAYERS HAVE CONFIRMED THEIR ATTENDANCE. SHOULD THEY FIND THEMSELVES UNABLE TO ATTEND, THEY NEED TO NOTIFY THEIR TEAM GM IMMEDIATELY.  ROSTER SPOTS ARE NOT GUARANTEED. PLAYER MUST BE AT THE FIELD BY 3:00 P.M. FOR AN ORIENTATION MEETING. PLAYERS NOT ON THE FIELD AT THAT TIME MAY BE REPLACED BY ALTERNATES IN ATTENDANCE THAT ARE CALLED FROM AROUND THE STADIUM.
