Game Summary/Box Score
May 12, 2007 Pocatello Predators at Boise Speed @ Eagle High School

POCATELLO 21 BOISE 7

BOISE – The Pocatello Predators continued their edge over cross-state rival, Boise, Saturday, with 21 unanswered first half points and then held on for a big 21-7 road victory over the Boise Speed at Eagle High School.

Since Pocatello came into existence in 2001, they held a 6-3 record over Boise, including the big come-from-behind 48-20 victory in the 2001 RMFL championship. The Roughriders/Speed won both meetings in 2004 and 2005, however, the Predators have dominated since, including the 21-7 victory Saturday which saw the Predators roll up 441 total net yards to a meager 146 for Boise.

Mark Anthony rushed for 112 yards on 12 carries, including two second quarter touchdowns to lead the Predators to a comfortable halftime lead.  Jordan Peterson had his best day in 2007, passing for 172 yards and a touchdown… without tossing an interception.

The Speed, however, were not quite so fortunate.

After tossing a 50-yard touchdown pass to Jeremy Prussia, Speed starting signal-caller, Brian Stogsdill became snake-bit by the Predator defense, tossing 5 interceptions in his next 8 passes as the Boise offense continued to shoot itself in the foot most of the rest of the contest.

The Predators defense got a big boost from the return to action of future RMFL Hall of Fame defensive back, Trent Sutton, filling in for brother Troy Sutton, who was not able to make the game.  Elder Sutton recorded 6 tackles, and along with Luke Sprague (6-1/2 tackles) lead the Pocatello defense.

Lionz transfer, Brandon Peebler, had his best game for the Predators, catching 5 passes for 101 yards and the game-tying touchdown late in the first quarter.

For Boise, Austin Callison, recorded 6-1/2 tackles and another couple of sacks as the Speed defense held the Predators down the entire second half… but it wasn’t enough.
