Game Summary/Box Score – 2007 ALL-STAR GAME
July 14, 2007 AAA All-Stars vs. AA All-Stars @ Idaho Falls High School

SACK HAPPY AAA THWART AA BID FOR ALL-STAR UPSET; CRUISE TO 35-13 VICTORY

IDAHO FALLS – After a good old fashioned football game broke out for a quarter and a half between the favored AAA All-Stars and the AA All-Stars, the AAA squad just took over.

Riding the combined legs of the Rhino-Raiders' Justin Oswald and the Idaho Falls Mustangs' Travis Boden to 3 rushing touchdowns and two touchdown connections between the Utah Heat's Jeff Wissler and the Mustangs' Brandon Reed, the AAA Stars scored 35 unanswered points between midway between the 2nd and midway between the 4th quarter en route to a 35-13 victory in the first ever AAA vs. AA All-Star game.

And... perhaps... it won't be the last.

The AA stood toe to toe for most of the first half before Oswald and Boden capped touchdown drives with scores later in the first half. The AA stars, however, just could not answer.

Part of the problem may have been due to a strong defensive front, lead by Rhino-Raiders' Tracy Ita, who lead the defense with 4 sacks and was named the MVP of the 2007 All-Star game. Combined, the AAA sacked the AA 8 times for 51 yards in net losses. James Huml of the Eastern Idaho Lionz had 2 sacks, and as the game wore on (between midway in the second qaurter until late in the 4th quarter), the AA just could not contend with the AAA defensive front.

Missoula Phoenix quarterback, Shane Jurasek, however, did finally help light a spark in the AA offense, leading the team to two late touchdown drives, including an athletic effort and a 12-yard touchdown run reminiscent of the running Shane Jurasek of old.

Idaho Matadors running back, Anthony Pomerlee (3) goes airborne when Cache Valley's Matt Wiser (51) takes him low. AAA would prevail with great defense.

The AAA squad, however, utilized some great surprise moves attempting 4 onsides kicks, gaining possession on 3 of them in the game. Even on the final squib kick by the AA, they even tried the throw back play and a little rugby pitching to try to score.

Solid offensive games were turned in by Utah Heat quarterback, Jeff Wissler, who had to go the whole game, passing for 228 yards and the two touchdowns to Brandon Reed. Reed would catch 5 passes for 104 yards to lead all on offense.

Josh Pettitt lead the AAA tacklers with 5-1/2 tackles, however, Ita's backfield charges stole the show and the MVP award for the AAA stars.

Rich Glenn lead the AA with 6 tackles and 1/2 sack, however, it was probably the Vipers' Josh Sides who recorded 5-1/2 tackles and 1-1/2 sacks to lead a AA defense that held the AAA stars to less than 300 total net yards while amassing 220 of their own.

The AA may not have won the game, but there were some great performances and great battles as the AA did earn a lot of respect from the AAA players and RMFL fans around the league.
