Game Summary/Box Score
April 14, 2007 Salt Lake Seminoles vs. Boise Speed

SALT LAKE 14 BOISE 7

BOISE – The RMFL Expansion Salt Lake Seminoles stunned the Boise Speed at home when with less than 5 minutes to go in the game, and the Speed holding a precarious 7-6 lead, Seminole quarterback, Nate Cone, found Spoon Moala floating across the middle of the field for an 18-yard touchdown pass and an improbable 14-7 victory; the first ever in Seminoles franchise history.

Likely, however, not the last.

Seminoles quarterback, Nate Cone, only completed 3 of his 19 pass attempts, however, two of those were for touchdowns.  Before the Moala game-clincher, Cone found head coach and two-way star, Harold Ragin, on a 75-yard catch and run play midway through the second quarter to pull the Seminoles to within 7-6 after the Speed scored first late in the first quarter on a Phil Zeek (13 carries, 50 yards) touchdown run.

But it was a defensive day all around as the Speed were held to a meager 177 total net yards and the Seminoles were held to a paltry 169 total net yards.  The Seminole “D”, however, parlayed 4 sacks and 3 interceptions in shutting out the Speed for the final 3 quarters of the game to hold on for the very big road victory.  Aisen Fakatoumafi lead the Seminoles defense with 5 tackles and Olaeo Losua had 4 tackles and a sack as the Seminoles proved they were far better than their pre-season 10th ranking in this game.  Ragin, who had the home run touchdown in the second quarter, also chipped in 3 tackles and an interception on defense.

Dave McCoy, the Seminoles owner and star running back, had a solid day, rushing for 81 yards on 19 carries.

Two different Speed quarterbacks, Adam Guy and Brian Stogdill, both tried their hand at denting the Seminoles defense but could not muster a further score after the Zeek touchdown. Although combining for 11 completions, they were only able to gain 99 yards on those passes, while being sacked 4 times (with the 3 interceptions).

As always, Speed linebacker, and 2-time RMFL Defensive MVP, Zac Jockumsen, lead the Boise defense with 10-1/2 tackles. The Speed were also happy to welcome back Austin Callison, who picked up 5 tackles of his own, including 1 sack.
