RMFL INDIVIDUAL RECORDS UPDATED; OTHER LEAGUE NEWS

RMFL – The RMFL has announced that it has updated the overall individual records sections to include the 2006 season. Players, coaches and GM’s are asked to review the updates and ensure all of the newly set records from 2006 have been included.

According to RMFL Commissioner, Jared Neumeier, “we always miss something. We want to make sure we are as accurate as possible. Since now we have both a AAA and a AA section, there is more room for human error.”

Neumeier did suggest that the AA records were occasionally a bit simplistic, since the ‘career records’ would be identical to the season records as this was the first season of AA competition.  Further, he said that in some cases, only the top record holder was included, since the record was low enough he expects a number of better marks over the overwrite the original record.

“There were a lot of great rushing records in the AA, not too many great passing or receiving records,” the commissioner observed. “Although that will likely be the theme around the AA level. The passing attacks just won’t be as powerful as you will see in the AAA.”

Further, the RMFL is revising what was the “League Records” section. That link will be called “Team Records” as it will include league records that are attributable to an overall team. Some of those records were already included in the previous records section, however, with the revised section (expected to be out by the end of the week of November 6th), there will be more records incorporated.

A number of new team managers have inquired, however, according to Commissioner Neumeier, “you never really know who is serious until a few weeks before the league meeting…and hopefully, then!”

The RMFL is expected to announce the location of the January 28th in early December. “If 4 or more Colorado teams decide to play with the RMFL in 2007, then I will hold the meeting in northern Utah. If we don’t have any confirmed CFC teams, then the meeting will be held in Pocatello, Idaho, “Neumeier stated.

Neumeier also said that he is leaning towards a two-day league meeting that would start at midday on Saturday, January 27th with a 5-hour afternoon session and conclude Sunday morning, January 28th with a 3-1/2 to 4 hour morning session.

Commissioner Neumeier continues to insist that 2007 will be his final season as Commissioner of the Rocky Mountain Football League and has been interviewing potential replacements.

“I wouldn’t say that I would stay away for ever, and could come back to be a part of the league in the future, “Neumeier added, “but I am so long overdue for a break its not even funny.  I need a spring off.”

Neumeier did hint that even though it may be a lame duck season for him, he will continue to work for ways to improve the league and the presentation. Look for this site for future announcements of new “enhancements” that will happen to the RMFL in 2007.

After updating the League Records site, Neumeier will work on the biography pages for the RMFL Hall of Fame inductees from the 2006 season.  Preparations for the January kick-off meeting will begin to heat up at full force by mid-December.
