RMFL COMMISSIONER TO OPEN FIRST EVER “FANTASY FOOTBALL” LEAGUE TO PLAYERS/TEAM REPRESENTATIVES FROM AROUND RMFL…”JUST FOR FUN”

RMFL – Although the off-season for an RMFL player can seem a bit long at times, as the next season is anxiously awaited, fortunately there is something that does come along conveniently in those very months between seasons… to sort of …fill the void.

NFL Football!!!

Of course with NFL Football comes the #1 non-contact participation sport in America… FANTASY NFL FOOTBALL!!

For the first ever season, Jared Neumeier, RMFL Commissioner, is offering the RMFL web site as an avenue to spice up the talk and make the off-season go a bit quicker.

For the first time ever, players and team representatives from around the RMFL will have an opportunity to represent their team/organization in an RMFL ran Fantasy Football Pool.

However, with the obvious restrictions of many teams and potentially many interested parties, Neumeier will only be able to accept one representative per team.

“Not only that,” Neumeier adds, “ the representative will have to name their team after their team moniker as well.  In other words, if you are participating from the Marauders, your team will be the Marauders, etc.  I will publish the rosters and weekly standings and transactions on the RMFL site as we progress through the season… and I won’t tell anyone who is representing which teams.”

Neumeier does agree that the information on who is managing which team will likely eventually leak out or just be announced by the Fantasy Manager on the message board, but that will also be part of the fun for those following along.

“Hopefully, even non-participants can get into it to a bit,” Neumeier says, “they can kind of root for their team or favorite team.

Neumeier says that he will immediately open up applications with this article.  Those that would like to represent their team in the RMFL Fantasy Pool simply need to e-mail him with their intentions and state why, if there is more than one applicant from that team, that he should be the representative in the fantasy competition.

Due to drafting limitations, Neumeier will close the pool at 18 participants. “Any more than that and drafting and putting out competitive teams in the pool would be just unwieldy,” Neumeier said. As it is, I would hate to be drafting 18th or 1st.

The final deadline to get an application in will be Sunday night, August 13th by 10:00 p.m.

Neumeier will notify participating applicants by return e-mail.

If there is not a full 18 qualifying applicants, Neumeier intends to open whatever remaining slots for some of the “internet personalities” that have become well-known on the RMFL message board… and yet few RMFL players or fans know of in person.

“We’ll just see how it goes,” Neumeier said, “this will be a great opportunity to ‘level the playing field’.  The Glacier Knights could finish this season 13-0 while the Ogden Rhino-Raiders could go 0-13… who knows?”

Once selected, the participants will be directed to the web site to register their team for the fantasy pool as well as research the scoring system and begin preparing for what will be an on line draft.

The on-line draft will take place on Saturday, August 26th at 3:00 p.m. MST.  Participants will not have to participate live, but can “pre-rank” their players before hand and let the computer draft for them… however,  it will be strongly advised that they do try to participate live and enjoy the experience of the fantasy draft… one of the most enjoyable parts of the Fantasy Football season.

So…

ALL THOSE INTERESTED IN REPRESENTING THEIR TEAM IN THE 2006 RMFL FANTASY FOOTBALL POOL SHOULD E-MAIL THE LEAGUE AT:
