Wasatch Wildcats at Missoula
The Wildcats utilized 7 defensive sacks, 3
interceptions and 2 fumble recoveries to set up field position and score, in
any way necessary to overwhelm the Missoula Raptors and hand the Raptors their
first ever loss. For the second of three

The Wasatch offense was lead by the strong
running of George Uyema who rushed for 55 yards on 7
carries and scored 3 of the Wildcats touchdowns. Sim Tiatia also rushed for 68 yards on 10 carries as the
Wildcat offense was solid on the day with 211 rushing yards, but only 39 net
passing yards.
The Raptors’ powerful offense struggled
throughout the game, accounting for only 36 rusing
yards on 28 carries (1.3 yards/rush) and could only muster 76 passing yards,
much of which was lost by the 7 Wildcats sacks.
Leading the sack brigade for the Wildcats was Delbert Hammond who had
2-1/2 sacks as part of 6 total tackles and Jasen Ah
You, back in his first RMFL game since 2000, recorded 4-1/2 tackles including a
sack to lead the dominating Wildcat defense.
Incidentally, the Wildcat kicking game had a big day as well, as Wildcat kickers, Golden Whetman and Gary Nye combined to hit 3 of 3 field goals and all but one blocked conversion attempt. The one conversion attempt that was blocked, Mike Wissler picked up the loose ball for Wasatch and found fellow wide receiver, Tony Saunders alone in the end zone for the 2-point conversion. A perfect example of a game in which everything just went right for the RMFL’s 2000 champions.
