Glacier Knights at Missoula Raptors, April 16, 2005

MISSOULA – The Missoula Raptors continued on their sky-rocket to success.  For the first time, but not the last, this time it was on the football field.

The Raptors dismantled the visiting Glacier Knights 46-0 before a sold-out 1,200 capacity stadium behind a dominating defense that held the Knights to only 116 total net yards, forced 4 turnovers and recorded 3 sacks.  The Raptor offense was lead by an array of players, including Justin Nixon who combined for 81 total yards (57 rushing, 24 receiving) and a touchdown and two Raptor quarterbacks, Buckie Brawley (8-11-0-79-1) and James Compton (3-9-0-36-1) shared the load as the Raptors were able to unload their massive bench in the second half.

The dominating defense was lead by Tad Sheridan and Jamie Jones.  Sheridan recorded 8 tackles before departing the game in the second quarter and Seabrook recorded 6-1/2 tackles before watching the rest of the game in the second half.

The Raptors who have taken the RMFL and the city of Missoula by a storm, boast a roster of more than 80 players. By special exemption granted to the Raptors by the Knights, they were able to dress 77 players for the game, almost all of which they were able to get on the field for the game at some point.

In a losing, but game effort, the Glacier Knights received some nice contributions from quarterback, Matt Callahan who threw for 95 yards and Bobby Kuehne who caught a 46-yard pass.  Defensively, all-star Jason Zielanski (6-1/2 tackles), Matt Kinsella (4-1/2 tackles) and Jaysen Inman (4 tackles, 1-1/2 sacks) had solid performances for the visiting Knights.
