KAMAS – The expansion Kamas Valley
Muddogs finally earned some respect.
After dropping their opening game to the
Morgan Marauders and then losing painfully at home last week against the Salt
Lake Nemesis, the Muddogs rebounded with a convincing 33-0 trouncing of the
previously unbeaten, Brigham City Devil Dogs.
The Muddogs were buoyed by the return of
quarterback, Cale Shepherd (6-8-0-106-2) who found
wide receiver, Brian Finn for touchdowns and the first two scores of the game
to give the home team the early 14-0 advantage.
A solid defensive performance was highlighted by a Muddog
safety by Junior Viatuu to close out the first half
scoring.
Luke Eyre lead the defense with 9 tackles and
Nick Jeppson picked up 2 sacks on the game as the
Muddogs completed their first shutout of the season.
The Devil Dogs got solid defensive play from
Miles Musiau who recorded 6 tackles and Shawn Branch
intercepted two passes to lead the Devil Dog defense.
The game was tainted, however, by a significant altercation that broke out late in the 4th quarter. A number of players will be receiving up to lifetime league expulsions for the incident.
