COLUMBIA FALLS - Shane Jurasek threw two touchdown passes to Dave Garca and Brian Hilborn kicked two field goals, including a record-tying 51-yard field goal in the second quarter to lift the Helena Titans to a 21-6 opening day victory over the expansion Glacier Knights.

The Titans, rebounding from a dismal 2003 campaign, started early with the first strike from Jurasek to Garza for 73-yards with just over 4 minutes elapsed in the game. Garza had an enormous individual day, accounting for 131 of the 189 total passing yards for the Titans, including their only two touchdowns. Hilborn, a perenial all-star in the RMFL, connected on a chip shot field goal as well in the third quarter to account for the Titan scoring.

The Knights were held in check most of the day, however, late in the second quarter, Knight quarterback, Jay Fiedor connected with Seth McCollum on a 71-yard catch and run. McCollum was dragged down by Titan linebacker Spencer Steiner on the Titan 1-yard line. Two plays later, Knight running back, Matt Scherer raced in for the Knights only score.

The Titan "d" was lead by Spencer Steiner (9 tackles) and Micheal Moe (6 tackles) in holding the Knights to less than 200 total net yards on the day. The Knights defense got a star performance by Patrick Doty who accounted for 8 of the Knights tackles.
