HELENA 34 MAGIC VALLEY 28

BOULDER - League-leading Titan wide receiver, Dave Garza caught the third of three touchdown passes from quarterback, Shane Jurasek with 14:34 remaining in the game, a 46-yard score, for the go-ahead touchdown to put the Helena Titans ahead to stay 27-20 and held on for a 34-28 victory over the visiting Magic Valley Bulldawgs.

Garza, who caught 5 passes for 125 yards and the three scores, was actually overshadowed by an incredible "triple-threat" performance by Magic Valley's Jeff May. May accounted for an incredible total of 463 yards of total offense. May rushed for 103, caught 4 passes for 60, and when starting quarterback, Mike Manning succumbed to injury midway through the second quarter, filled in at quarterback and passed for 310 yards, 2 touchdown passes and an 18-yard touchdown scramble run late in the 4th quarter to pull the Bulldawgs back to within 34-28 and the final margin.

In the offensive explosion, the Titans picked up another big game from tailback, Hollis Huggins (12 carries, 63 yards) and Justin Clement (25 rushes, 76 yards) as both teams offensive lines had their way with the opposing defenses. The Titans amassed 153 total rushing yards on the day. Titans league-leading quarterback, Shane Jurasek (10-14-0-235-3) had another solid day passing in answering every shot the Bulldawgs could muster.

Along with May, the Bulldawg offense got huge games from wide receivers, Robert Carrick (2 receptions, 2 touchdowns 55 and 30 yards) and Cole Meiners (8 receptions, 145 yards) as the Bulldawg passing offense went for more than 400 yards.

Although the defenses were not performing at their best, the Titans got excellent support when they needed it, forcing 5 Bulldawg turnovers (2 interceptions, 3 fumbles). Spencer Steiner lead the defense with 6-1/2 tackles and Justin Lamb pitched in 4-1/2 tackles, two sacks and a fumble recovery. The Bulldawg defense was lead by... Jeff May's brother, Rick May, recording 7 tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery in an afternoon that will officially go down in Bulldawg history as "May Day"... in more ways than one.
