OGDEN - The Davis Vipers made a statement. Unfortunately, they didn't make the 2004 RMFL playoffs. The Davis Vipers routed the Utah Blitz 50-0 behind great efforts from star running back, Josh Christensen, who rushed for 161 yards and three touchdowns, and the efforts of quarterback, Terry Smothers who tossed for 203 yards and 3 touchdowns, including a pass to Josh Christensen (to give him 4 scores on the day). Wide receiver, Colby Cook, made up the third of the "big three" offensive stars for the Vipers, catching 8 of Smothers passes for 120 yards and the other passing scores.

The Vipers statement was made far and wide that they will be a team to be reckoned with and perhaps the hottest team to not make the playoffs. Defensively, Mike Christensen played very well, recording 7 tackles and and interception for the Vipers. Rich Lawrence recorded 6-1/2 tackles and teamed up with teammate, Chris Norton, to haul down Blitz quarterback, Jeff LaBounty, in the Blitz end zone for a safety early in the third quarter.

The Vipers finished the season at 4-4, tied with the Layton Pitbulls for what could have been the #4 seed of the UFC for the upcoming RMFL playoffs. However, the Vipers lost a tough 14-7 contest to the Pitbulls on May 22nd that ended up being the deciding factor in keeping the hot Vipers out of the 2004 playoffs.
